Work package 3 is working on the physical and economic impacts of land subsidence. Furthermore, it bridges the gap between knowledge of impacts of land subsidence and decision-making. WP3 has a focus on numerical model development and (big) data analyses.

Subprojects:

WP3.1 – Predictive modelling of the land subsidence

Develop a framework including a 3-D dynamic land subsidence numerical model and big data analysis to quantify the spatial and temporal extent of the land subsidence.

WP3.2 – Damage assessment for buildings and infrastructure
Develop a reliable approach for the assessment of the settlement-induced damage to the built heritage due to land subsidence.

WP3.3 – An economic analysis of soil subsidence mitigation
Provide economic assessments of management and policy responses to land subsidence, by conducting a comprehensive Social Cost Benefit Analysis (SCBA).
